Two-Color Cobra Weave Bracelet PDF
The Two-Color Cobra Weave Bracelet is a great bracelet for beginners because the two, different colored strands make the weaving process easier to complete. This bracelet is an ideal place to start for people who are just getting into paracord crafting and want to incorporate more colors into their bracelet. Dayglow and Turquoise paracord, as well as one Orange 3/8” Buckle were used in the making of this tutorial.
Supplies Needed:
- 4-5 ft of Nylon 550 Paracord in two different colors (8-10 ft total)
- One 3/8" or 1/2" Buckle
- Scissors
- Lighter
- Tape Measure or Ruler
1.
Begin by melting the end of each color of paracord and squishing them together. You will need to melt the ends at the same time.
2.
Fold the conjoined cord in half near the joint. Put the fold through one end of the buckle, fold it over, and tighten to create a cow hitch knot.
3.
Adjust the cow hitch knot so that the rope joint is 6-7 inches from the buckle.
4.
Insert the ends of both strands through the top of the other side of the buckle. Make sure to keep both strands parallel and do not twist them.
5.
Pull the ends through until the loop is the size of your wrist. Pinch the cord and detach the buckle. Lay the bracelet along side a tape measure or ruler and make sure that your bracelet (including the buckle but not the teeth) measures 1 inch longer than your wrist measurement.
6.
Once you’ve measured, lay the bracelet out like this with one cord to each side and the middle cords parallel. Decide what color you want to be the primary color. In this tutorial, blue is the primary.
7.
Cross the primary cord over the middle two cords and place the secondary cord over it.
8.
Then, bring the secondary cord underneath the middle two cords and put it through the loop on the primary’s side.
9.
Before pulling tight, pinch where the cords go through the buckle to ensure the length of the bracelet that was previously measured won’t change, and then tighten. Remeasure your bracelet to make sure it’s still the same as the previous measurement.
10.
Repeat steps 8-10, but opposite. Always use the primary color as the cord that goes over the middle two cords. This knot should mirror the first one.
11.
Continue to alternate left and right as you make the knots and push the knots upward every few to make sure they are tight.
12.
Keep making this pattern until you reach the end.
13.
Once you’ve reached the end, cut each end of the paracord about ¼” from the bracelet.
14.
Melt and flatten each end with a lighter.
Your two-color Cobra Weave Paracord Bracelet should look like this:
Any two colors of 550 paracord as well as any color of a 3/8” or a ½” buckle can be used for this bracelet. To check out other tutorials for more step-by-step guidance, click here
